GKIDS has officially released an English dub trailer for the highly anticipated anime film “100 Meters” (Hyakuemu), offering North American audiences a first listen to the film’s English voice cast. The sports drama, which premiered in Japan on September 19, 2025, is set for a limited theatrical release across North America, beginning with select theaters on October 10, followed by a nationwide release from October 12-14, 2025.

Catch a Glimpse of the English Dub

The newly released trailer showcases the intense rivalry and personal journeys central to “100 Meters,” now brought to life with an English voice cast. While specific English voice actors have yet to be detailed in the provided search results, the trailer confirms the availability of an English dubbed version for its upcoming theatrical run. This allows a broader audience to experience the compelling narrative of friendship, competition, and self-discovery without relying solely on subtitles.

Plotting the Course: The Story of “100 Meters”

Based on Uoto’s acclaimed sports manga, “100 Meters” delves into the competitive world of track and field, specifically the intense 100-meter dash. The story centers on Togashi, a naturally gifted runner who effortlessly dominates races from a young age. His world shifts in sixth grade with the arrival of Komiya, a transfer student brimming with determination but lacking refined technique. Togashi mentors Komiya, inadvertently igniting in him an unyielding desire to win. Years later, their paths cross again on the track, transforming their complex relationship into a fierce rivalry where both runners are compelled to confront their true selves.

Creative Team and Production Studio

The film is directed by Kenji Iwaisawa, known for his work on “ON-GAKU: OUR SOUND,” and is produced by animation studio Rock ‘n’ Roll Mountain. This project marks the second collaboration between GKIDS and Director Iwaisawa for North American distribution. The screenplay was penned by Yasuyuki Mutō, with music composed by Hiroaki Tsutsumi. Keisuke Kojima served as both character designer and chief animation director.

Japanese Voice Cast Highlights

The Japanese voice cast features prominent actors, including Tori Matsuzaka as Togashi and Shōta Sometani as Komiya. Other key cast members include Kōki Uchiyama as Saizu and Kenjirō Tsuda as Kaidō. Additional roles are filled by Jun Kasama, Rie Takahashi, Aoi Yūki, Yūma Uchida, Tomokazu Sugita, and more.

“Rashisa” by Official HiGE DANdism as Theme Song

The film’s theme song, “Rashisa,” is performed by the popular Japanese band Official HiGE DANdism. The song is featured in the film’s trailers and contributes to the emotional depth of the narrative.

North American Theatrical Run

GKIDS is bringing “100 Meters” to North American theaters with a special opening screening event in Los Angeles on October 10, 2025. This will be followed by a wider release across North American cinemas from October 12-14, 2025, offering both the original Japanese with English subtitles and the newly revealed English dub.
