Manga Mavericks, a new publishing division stemming from the Manga Mavericks website and podcast, has announced its first licensed titles, including “First Time in Taiwan: A Delicious Adventure!”, “Great Metal God”, and “Princess Da Huang & Other Titles”, during a panel at Anime Expo on Friday, July 4, 2025. This marks Manga Mavericks’ inaugural foray into licensing manga for release.
Subscribers to the Manga Mavericks Substack newsletter will gain early access to these titles, with a manga reading feature being added to the newsletter on July 16, 2025.

First Time in Taiwan: A Delicious Adventure!

- Summary: A sci-fi fairy tale depicting the advent of an unknown steel visitor causing destruction, with humanity’s salvation coming from an ancient ritual and a young girl’s resolve. The manga is almost entirely without text, relying on incredible artwork.
Princess Da Huang & Other Titles

- Release Date: December 2025
- Summary: An anthology set in a whimsical, beautiful, and dangerous world where humans coexist with bizarre creatures, featuring several fairy tale-like stories.
Manga Mavericks Books is collaborating with Red String localization company for some releases, including “I’ll See You at Ebisu Studios”. The new publishing division aims to license and publish the work of indie mangaka from Japan. The initial set of six books, three from Manga Mavericks and three from Red String, are slated for release on July 16, 2025, in both print and digital formats.
