ABC Animation, a subsidiary of Asahi Broadcasting Group Holdings Corporation, has announced the establishment of its own music business and label. This new venture will be responsible for producing the theme songs for the “Shūkan Ranobe Anime” (Weekly Light Novel Anime) program.

The Shūkan Ranobe Anime Program

“Shūkan Ranobe Anime” is a new “Light-novel Anime” project that will feature four distinct anime works. These works are adaptations of original stories penned by popular light novel authors and are paired with character designs from renowned illustrators. Initially, short versions of these anime were released in June as vertical anime for smartphones, available as YouTube Shorts. The program is set to air on television, re-edited for horizontal screens, beginning July 12, 2025, within the Animazing!!! programming block on ABC TV, TV Asahi, and their affiliates.

The four original stories adapted for the program include:

• “Shōshin Time Leap” (Heartbreak Time Leap) by nigozyu, with character designs by tanu.
• “Femme Fatale Ikusei Keikaku” (Femme Fatale Raising Project) by Natsu Hyūga, with character designs by Kamoku Okeno.
• “Jack the Reaper” by Tappei Nagatsuki, with character designs by Minori Chigusa.
• “Marie Antoinette ni Tensei Shita node, Zenryoku de Guillotine wo Kaihi Shimasu” by Shōko Amano.

Theme Song Productions

The newly formed music label by ABC Animation will handle the theme songs for “Shūkan Ranobe Anime”. The opening theme song, “Hajimari no Aizu” (Signal of a Start), will be performed by voice actress Chihaya Yoshitake, marking her debut as a solo artist. The ending theme song, titled “Gunjō to Mikan no Kanata” (Ultramarine and Incomplete Beyond), will be performed by voice actress Ayaka Nanase, featuring Takayuki “Kojiro” Sasaki.
