The popular manga series Studio Apartment, Good Lighting, Angel Included (Japanese: Wan Rūmu, Hiatari Futsū, Tenshi-tsuki.), written and illustrated by matoba, is slated to end with its eighth volume. News of the conclusion has been circulating among fans following a listing on Rakuten, a Japanese e-commerce platform.

Manga to End After Nearly Five Years

The series, which began serialization in Square Enix’s Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine in September 2020, will release its final volume on April 12, according to Square Enix.

Synopsis of the Series

Yen Press, the English publisher of the manga, describes the story as follows: Shintaro Tokumitsu, a high school student living alone, encounters an angel named Towa on his balcony. Towa’s arrival turns his life upside down, leading to unexpected and adorable situations.

Publication Details

Studio Apartment, Good Lighting, Angel Included has been published in collected tankōbon volumes. As of April 2024, seven volumes had been released in Japan. Yen Press released the sixth volume in English on December 10, with the seventh volume scheduled for release on May 27.

Anime Adaptation

The manga inspired an anime adaptation that premiered in Japan on March 30 on the ABEMA service, followed by its television premiere on Tokyo MX on April 6. The anime was broadcast on BS NTV, Kansai TV, AT-X, and TV Aichi.

Streaming Platforms

Crunchyroll streamed the anime in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, the Indian subcontinent, and Southeast Asia.

Reception and Reviews

Studio Apartment, Good Lighting, Angel Included has been described as an adorable rom-com and a relaxing piece of escapism. Some reviewers have noted that while the premise is relatively predictable, the series succeeds in engaging readers with its heartwarming story and characters.

Character Dynamics

Reviewers have praised the dynamic between the main characters, Shintaro and Towa. Towa’s curiosity and optimistic outlook contrast with Shintaro’s more grounded personality. The supporting cast also contributes to the series’ humor and charm.

Anime Adaptation Reception

The anime adaptation has received mixed reviews. Some critics have described it as “comfortably mid,” noting that it doesn’t reinvent the genre but provides harmless and mindful entertainment. Others have pointed out that the anime had a weak start and end, but a strong middle portion where the supporting cast was built up.

Where to Pick Up After the Anime

For those who watched the anime and want to continue the story, the manga picks up at Chapter 22.

Final Thoughts

Studio Apartment, Good Lighting, Angel Included has captured the hearts of many with its charming story and lovable characters. While the manga is coming to an end, fans can look forward to the release of the final volume and continue to enjoy the anime adaptation.
