The anime adaptation of Uoto’s historical manga, Orb: On the Movements of the Earth (Chi: Chikyū no Undō ni Tsuite), has announced the addition of Shōya Ishige to its voice cast. Ishige will be voicing the character of Albert Brudzewski, a young baker.

Shōya Ishige is set to voice Albert Brudzewski, a young baker who has lost his academic curiosity following a specific incident. The character will make his debut appearance in the anime’s 23rd episode, which will be released on Saturday.
About Orb: On the Movements of the Earth
Orb: On the Movements of the Earth is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Uoto. It was serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Big Comic Spirits magazine from September 2020 to April 2022. The anime television series adaptation, produced by Madhouse, premiered in October 2024.
Premise
Set in 15th-century Poland, the story follows Rafał, a child prodigy. He is expected to study theology, which is considered the most important subject of the time. However, Rafał encounters a mysterious man and begins to explore the heretical idea that the Earth revolves around the Sun. This concept was against the teachings of the church, leading to persecution and execution for those who held such beliefs. The story follows Rafał as he seeks the truth behind these heretical ideas, while evading the Inquisition.

The anime series is currently streaming on Netflix and ABEMA. It premiered on NHK General on October 5th, 2024, with the first two episodes. The series will run for 25 episodes across two consecutive cours (quarters of a year), for a half-year run.
