The highly anticipated fifth season of the Gag Manga Biyori anime series, Gag Manga Biyori GO, has released its main trailer, showcasing the opening theme song and announcing its streaming debut on April 5, 2025. Fans can catch the new season on Amazon Prime Video and the It’s Anime YouTube channel.
‘Gag Manga Biyori GO’ Premieres Opening Theme “Bokutachi no Gag Manga Biyori”
The trailer offers a sneak peek at the opening theme song, “Bokutachi no Gag Manga Biyori” (Our Gag Manga Biyori), performed by Yūji Ueda. Kosuke Masuda penned the lyrics, while Harukichi Yamamoto composed the music. The ending theme song is “Happy Go Go Lucky Ending,” performed by Tetsuya Kanmuri, with music also by Harukichi Yamamoto.
Streaming Debut and World Premiere
Gag Manga Biyori GO will begin streaming on April 5, 2025, on both Amazon Prime Video and the It’s Anime YouTube channel, excluding Japan and certain territories. Ahead of its streaming debut, the anime is set to have its world premiere at Kawaii Kon in Hawaii, which takes place from March 14 to 16, 2025. Director Akitaro Daichi will be a special guest at the event. The panel, entitled “Gag Manga Biyori GO: World Premiere Panel with director Akitaro Daichi,” will be held in Room 311 from 3:45 PM to 4:45 PM HST.
Production Staff and Cast
Akitarō Daichi (Kodocha) returns to direct the anime at Studio DEEN. Harukichi Yamamoto (Ojarumaru) is also returning to compose the music, and Kazuya Tanaka (School Rumble) is back as the sound director. Mizuki Nakagawa is credited for color design, Manami Koyama (Ninja Girl & Samurai Master) as the art director, and Takashi Yanagida (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure) as the director of photography.

About ‘Gag Manga Biyori’
Kosuke Masuda’s Gag Manga Biyori manga launched in Monthly Shonen Jump in 1999, later moving to Jump Square. Known for its bizarre and non-sequitur humor, the series has spawned stage plays and several anime adaptations, including three television anime seasons in 2005, 2006, and 2008, and another in 2010. Gag Manga Biyori GO marks the fifth television anime adaptation and the first in 15 years. The manga was followed by Masuda Kōsuke Gekijō Gag Manga Biyori GB in 2014.
