The upcoming anime adaptation of Tokuya Higashigawa’s “The Dinner Table Detective” (Nazotoki wa Dinner no Ato de) has released new information, including its premiere date, additional staff members, and the ending theme song. The anime is set to debut on April 4 on Fuji TV’s Noitamina programming block.
More Staff Announced for “Dinner Table Detective” Anime
The anime’s production team has revealed additional staff members contributing to the series. Mitsuyuki Masuhara (“Ace of Diamond,” “Polar Bear’s Café”) is directing the anime at Madhouse. Mariko Kunisawa (“Ascendance of a Bookworm”) is in charge of the series scripts. Izumi Kawada (key animator for “Akame ga KILL!,” “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind”) is handling the animation character designs, adapting Oreco Tachibana’s original character designs for animation. Takeshi Hama (“Magical Sempai”) is composing the music.
“Rhapsody” to Feature as Ending Theme
The ending theme song for “The Dinner Table Detective” anime will be “Rhapsody” by the four-member band Billy Boo. A promotional video has been released featuring a preview of the song.
“The Dinner Table Detective” Plot Overview
“The Dinner Table Detective” follows Reiko Hosho, the heiress to the world-famous Hosho Group, who works as a rookie detective in Kunitachi City, Tokyo. Her superior is Inspector Kazamatsuri, the son of the owner of Kazamatsuri Motors. Reiko often consults her butler and driver, Kageyama, who despite his harsh remarks, possesses brilliant deduction skills and always manages to solve the cases. Kageyama’s sharp tongue and insightful observations help Reiko unravel the mysteries they encounter. The series is a blend of mystery and comedy.
