The announcement was made on Wednesday via the anime’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, promising a continuation of the vibrant story of the 765 Production idols.

The team behind the original anime series is set to return for this new project. Shinya Watada, who directed the anime, will be back at the helm at Shirogumi Inc. Yoichi Kato will once again handle the script, ensuring a consistent vision and tone for the OVA.

The original The IDOLM@STER Million Live! game was released by Namco Bandai Games in 2013 as a spinoff. The game initially featured the 765 Pro characters of the original series, as well as 37 new characters. In March 2018, the game’s service was terminated. Bandai Namco Entertainment launched The IDOLM@STER Million Live! Theater Days, a successor to the game, for iOS and Android devices in June 2017. The setting for the new game is a 765 Pro live theater, and it takes place in areas such as the theater’s office, waiting room, and greenroom. The game features the theater clerk character Misaki Aoba. Players can communicate more with the idols in the game.
