‘Shoshimin: How to Become Ordinary’ Season 2 Set to Premiere on April 5

The second season of the anime series Shoshimin: How to Become Ordinary, adapted from Honobu Yonezawa’s mystery novel series, is scheduled to debut on April 5, 2025. The new season will air on TV Asahi in the NUMAnimation programming block and will also be available for streaming on ABEMA starting the same day.

What to Expect in Season 2

The second season will adapt the Shuki Gentei Kuri Kinton Jiken (The Case of the Autumn-time Limited-Edition Candied Chestnuts and Sweet Potatoes) and Tōki Gentei Bonbon Chocolat Jiken (The Case of the Wintertime Limited-Edition Chocolate Bonbons) novels.

New Cast Members

Several new cast members will be joining the series for the second season, including:

  • Teppei Uenishi as Takahiko Urino
  • Yume Miyamoto as Tokiko Nakamaru
  • Seiichirō Yamashita as Yūto Hiya

Theme Songs

The opening theme song for the second season will be “Kaseijin” (Martian) performed by yorushika, and the ending theme song will be “SugaRiddle” by Nagi Yanagi.

About Shoshimin: How to Become Ordinary

Shoshimin: How to Become Ordinary is based on the Shōshimin Series, a Japanese mystery novel series written by Honobu Yonezawa. The series follows Jōgorō Kobato, who desires to live a quiet and ordinary life after a painful experience. He forms a “mutually beneficial relationship” with Yuki Osanai, who shares the same goal. Together, they start high school with the intention of living peaceful days as ordinary people, but they find themselves constantly entangled in mysteries.

  • Yuki Osanai: Voiced by Hina Youmiya, Osanai is Kobato’s classmate who also desires to live an ordinary life. She forms a pact with Kobato to achieve this goal.
