Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun season 2 episode 9, titled “Make It Secret,” sees Nene’s resolve to escape the fabricated world intensify, leading to confrontations and revelations about Hanako’s true intentions. The episode, which adapts manga chapters 49 and 50, premiered on March 9, 2025, and dives deeper into the mysteries surrounding Hanako and the artificial world they are trapped in.

Nene’s Desperate Attempt to Escape

The episode begins with Nene determined to leave the school and the fabricated world created by Shijima. She attempts to escape with Hanako, but he is reluctant to leave, revealing that he enjoys being in this world, referring to himself as Amane. He tries to persuade Nene to stay with him, but she refuses, stating that the person she cares for isn’t present in that reality.

Overwhelmed by the situation and the realization that she cannot escape Shijima’s influence, Nene seeks solace outside the school grounds.

A Glimmer of Hope and Hanako’s Interference

During her search for an exit, a mysterious floating brush appears, claiming to be an ally and offering a way out of the fabricated world. However, just as the brush is about to reveal the alternate exit, Hanako unexpectedly destroys it and renders Nene unconscious. He then carries her back to the school, raising further suspicion about his motives.

Confrontation and Unraveling Truths

As Kou and Mitsuba attempt to regroup with Nene, they encounter Hanako carrying the unconscious Nene. Kou, concerned for her safety, questions Hanako, who offers a weak and unconvincing explanation. Meanwhile, Mitsuba, in his School Wonder form, observes from a nearby bush. Hanako quickly notices him, suggesting a deeper understanding of the situation than he lets on.

The episode highlights the growing tension and mistrust between Nene and Hanako, as his actions and true motives become increasingly questionable.
