The upcoming ecchi romantic comedy anime, “Kakushite! Makina-san!!,” has released a promotional video showcasing its opening and ending theme songs ahead of its April 6 premiere in Japan. The anime, based on the manga by Yoshimi Sato, promises a risqué and humorous story about a high school student and a secret sexaroid robot.

“Ie de Yeah! tte Agetai ga” and “Android ni Kubittake” Set the Tone

The promo video offers a sneak peek at the anime’s theme songs:

  • Opening Theme: “Ie de Yeah! tte Agetai ga” performed by Serena Kozuki.
  • Ending Theme: “Android ni Kubittake” performed by Brave Mental Orchestra.

Both songs aim to capture the playful and slightly suggestive nature of the series.

Story and Characters

“Kakushite! Makina-san!!” centers on Eita Akutsu, an introverted mecha nerd, whose life is turned upside down when Makina Agatsuma, the most popular girl in school, arrives at his doorstep seeking… repairs. Makina harbors a secret: she’s a high-spec android designed for pleasure. Despite his timid nature, Eita is determined to keep Makina’s identity a secret while navigating her advances and troubleshooting her technological needs.

Key Characters and Voice Cast

The anime features a talented cast bringing the characters to life:

  • Makina Agatsuma: Voiced by Tomoyo Takayanagi. Makina is the school idol who is secretly a pleasure-model android.
  • Eita Akutsu: Voiced by Yo Taichi. Eita is the reclusive mecha otaku who discovers Makina’s secret.
  • Mimika Imose: Voiced by Yuki Kuwahara.
  • Mamimi: Voiced by Hina Natsume.
  • Alma: Voiced by Eriko Matsui.
  • Landlady: Voiced by Ryoko Shintani.

Production Team

The anime is being brought to life by a dedicated team:

  • Director: Masayoshi Nishida (known for “Grandpa and Grandma Turn Young Again”).
  • Animation Studios: BloomZ, with production cooperation by Wolfsbane.
  • Series Composition: Yohei Kashii (“TenPuru”).
  • Main Character Design: Yusaku Nakamura.
  • Music: Kyohei Matsuno (“Dragon Goes House-Hunting”).
  • Assistant Director: Kentaro Iino

Premiere Date and Where to Watch

“Kakushite! Makina-san!!” is scheduled to premiere on April 6, 2025, at 25:20 JST (effectively April 7 at 1:20 a.m.) on Tokyo MX and BS Fuji in Japan.

The “hidden” or broadcast version will also be available on AnimeFesta, DMM TV, and other services. An “unhidden” or “deregulated version” will stream on WWWave Corporation’s AnimeFesta site.

Manga Origins

The anime is based on the manga series by Yoshimi Sato, which began serialization in Futabasha’s Monthly Action magazine in October 2022. After the magazine’s disbandment in February 2024, the series moved to Web Comic Action in April of the same year. The manga’s chapters have been compiled into four tankōbon volumes as of December 2024.

Expert Perspective

Yoshimi Sato, the author of the original manga, brings a unique blend of erotic comedy and science fiction to “Kakushite! Makina-san!!”. Having also created the manga “Crossing Time,” which received a TV anime adaptation in 2018, Sato has a proven track record in the industry. The combination of a risqué plot, endearing characters, and a talented production team positions “Kakushite! Makina-san!!” as a potentially popular anime series in the Spring 2025 season.
