The upcoming slice-of-life anime See You Tomorrow at the Food Court has added Saori Hayami and Jun Fukuyama to its voice cast, enriching the series with their talent. This announcement comes ahead of the anime’s premiere in 2025, adding to the anticipation for this adaptation of Shinichiro Nariie’s popular manga.

Two New Voices Join the Food Court Crew

Saori Hayami will be voicing the character of Saito, Wada’s classmate who is known for taking her time to put on makeup after arriving at school. Jun Fukuyama will be lending his voice to Duke Abel, a quirky character from the social game that Wada plays. These additions promise to bring even more depth and humor to the already engaging cast.

Meet the Main Characters

The series stars Yoshino Aoyama as Yamamoto and Hiyori Miyazaki as Wada, the two main characters whose unlikely friendship blossoms in the everyday setting of a food court.

Production Team and Story Overview

Kazuomi Koga (Rent-a-Girlfriend) is directing the anime at studio Atelier Pontdarc. Jukki Hanada (The Dangers in My Heart) is in charge of series composition, ensuring a faithful adaptation of the source material. Kyuta Sakai (Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-) is handling character designs and serving as chief animation director, while Kana Utatane (Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines!) is composing the music. Jin Aketagawa is the sound director.

Story Synopsis

See You Tomorrow at the Food Court follows Wada, a seemingly quiet and refined rich girl, and Yamamoto, an intimidating and fashionable “lone wolf.” To their classmates, they appear to be complete opposites. However, their secret lies in their daily meetings at the food court, where they can be themselves, rant about their passions (Wada’s being a mobile game and Yamamoto’s being urban legends), and learn what makes each other tick. Yen Press, which publishes the manga in English, describes the story as a heartwarming exploration of an unlikely friendship.

AnimeJapan 2025 Stage Event

The anime will be showcased at Kadokawa’s AnimeJapan 2025 booth on March 23 at 10:20 a.m. (March 22 at 9:30 p.m. EDT). Jun Fukuyama will join the anime’s two lead voice actors, Hiyori Miyazaki and Yoshino Aoyama, at the event. The event will be streamed on Kadokawa’s YouTube channel, giving fans a chance to catch a glimpse of the voice actors and learn more about the anime.

Character Details and Voice Actor Comments

  • Saito: Wada’s classmate who is known for taking her time to put on makeup after arriving at school. Voiced by Saori Hayami.
  • Duke Abel: A character from the social game Wada plays. Voiced by Jun Fukuyama.
  • Wada: An honor student who keeps to herself and has an air of mystery around her. Voiced by Hiyori Miyazaki.
  • Yamamoto: An intimidating fashionista with dyed blond hair and a shortened skirt. Voiced by Yoshino Aoyama.

Jun Fukuyama commented, “Two girls in a food court. How will Duke Abel’s voice resonate during their time together when no one can disturb them?! It’s an anime, but it’s like a game, lol. I hope that it adds to the fun of the game in the way that it can. Look forward to it!”

Saori Hayami said, “I had let my imagination run wild based on the descriptions in the original work, the images from the script…and other things like that, but when I actually did the dubbing, I felt like my horizons had been opened to the world, and I realized, ‘So this is what Saito is like…!’ I approached the role with the feeling that I was just casually taking part in the wonderful atmosphere created by Wada-san and Yamamoto-san. I hope you enjoy it.”
