The upcoming Shin Samurai-den Yaiba anime has unveiled additional cast members, adding to the excitement surrounding the reboot of Gosho Aoyama’s classic manga. The new series is set to premiere in April 2025 and promises to bring a fresh take on the beloved story of Yaiba Kurogane and his quest to become a true samurai.
Returning and New Cast Members Join the Adventure
The latest announcement includes both returning voice actors and new additions to the cast, promising a blend of nostalgia and fresh energy.

Minami Takayama reprises her role as Yaiba Kurogane, while Manaka Iwami and Yoshimasa Hosoya join as Sayaka Mine and Takeshi Onimaru, respectively. Katsuyuki Konishi joins the cast as Kenjūrō Kurogane, Yaiba’s father. Junichi Suwabe will voice Musashi Miyamoto. Isshin Chiba as Kagetora and Kōsuke Echigoya as Shonosuke were announced in February 2025.
Production Staff
The anime is directed by Takahiro Hasui at Wit Studio, with Touko Machida in charge of series scripts. Yoshimichi Kameda is the character designer and chief animation director, with Takeshi Maenami as the sub-character designer and main animator. The music is composed by Yutaka Yamada and Yoshiaki Dewa, with Haru Yamada as the sound director and Maiko Okada as the animation producer.
