The hardworking, rabbit construction crew is back! Kei Ikeda’s Zenryoku Usagi is premiering its second season, and fans are eager to see what hilarious antics await. A promotional video has been released, offering a sneak peek at the new season. Here’s everything you need to know about the return of this gag comedy anime.

What is Zenryoku Usagi?

Zenryoku Usagi (“全力ウサギ”), which translates to “全力兔” in Chinese, is a comedy manga series created by Kei Ikeda. It features a group of rabbits (who are essentially humans in rabbit form) working together at a construction company, embracing the motto of “doing your best” in everything they do. This motto applies not only to their construction work but also to their daily lives – working their best, eating their best, and playing their best. The stories often revolve around their experiences together, with many not even related to construction.

Previous Adaptations

Before the “Reiwa-era” anime project, Zenryoku Usagi was initially adapted into a series of 52 short anime episodes in 2008. These shorts were broadcast as part of the Chibi Ani Gekijō (Tiny Anime Theater) program.

  • Gag Comedy: The humor is derived from the everyday situations and the characters’ over-the-top reactions.
  • Slice of Life: It depicts the daily lives of construction workers, albeit with a humorous twist.
  • Anthropomorphism: The characters are rabbits, but they behave like humans.
  • Workplace Comedy: Much of the humor comes from the interactions and situations within the construction site.

Reception

The first season of the “Reiwa-era” anime premiered in October 2023. The original 2008 anime has a rating of 6.04 on MyAnimeList, based on 371 users.

Additional Information
