What is Dekin no Mogura About?
Dekin no Mogura (translated as “The Banned Mole” or “The Earthbound Mole”) is a supernatural comedy manga series written and illustrated by Natsumi Eguchi, the creator of Hozuki’s Coolheadedness. It has been serialized in Kodansha’s Morning magazine since April 2021.
The story follows Momoyuki Mogura, a mysterious, self-proclaimed hermit who is banned from the afterlife. To be allowed back, he collects the “light” of spirits in a lantern. Those who encounter him begin to experience strange phenomena. The story begins when students Magi and Yaeko witness a heavy dictionary falling on Mogura’s head, causing him to bleed. Mogura refuses medical assistance, leading the students to become involved in the strange occurrences around him.
Where to Catch Up
The manga is available on the Comic Days service. Kodansha USA Publishing is releasing Hozuki’s Coolheadedness digitally in English, if you want to check out Eguchi’s previous work.
