The upcoming anime adaptation of Aki Akimoto’s romantic comedy manga, Mechanical Marie (Kikaijikake no Marie), has unveiled exciting new details, including the main cast, staff, and a confirmed release window. Anime enthusiasts can look forward to the series premiering in Fall 2025.
A Misanthropic Master and His “Mechanical” Maid
Mechanical Marie tells the story of Marie, a former martial artist who takes on a new job as a maid for Arthur, the heir to a powerful conglomerate. Arthur, deeply misanthropic, despises humans. To work for him, Marie must pretend to be a robot. The premise takes a comedic turn when Arthur, despite his aversion to humans, shows kindness and affection towards inanimate objects, including Marie in her “mechanical maid” persona.
If Marie’s true identity is discovered, she faces immediate execution! She flawlessly fulfills her duties as a “mechanical maid,” even while secretly protecting Arthur from assassins. As Arthur grows fond of Marie, he comes dangerously close to discovering her secret, leading to a series of close calls. The series promises a heartwarming romantic comedy filled with laughter and thrills as the master-servant relationship evolves into something unexpected.
