The “Hero Without a Class” series began as a web novel written by Shichio Kuzu on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website from November 2017 to May 2020. Recognizing its potential, Earth Star Entertainment acquired the series and began publishing it as a light novel with illustrations by Yumehito Ueda in July 2018. As of June 2019, four volumes have been released.
The series’ popularity led to a manga adaptation illustrated by Akio Nanae, which launched on Comic Earth Star in November 2018. As of March 2025, nine tankobon volumes have been released. One Peace Books has licensed the manga adaptation for English release, bringing the story to a wider audience.
