The world of “Tougen Anki: Dark Demon of Paradise” is set to broaden with an exciting new spinoff manga series. Officially titled “Tougen Anki Gaiden: Tsuki to Sakura no Kyōsō Kyoku” (Tougen Anki Side Story: The Rhapsody of the Moon and Cherry Blossoms), this new series will delve into the untold past of Tsukuyomi Momoka and Ousuke Momokado, offering fans a deeper understanding of the Momotarou clan.
What to Expect From the Spinoff
Dōma Oda will launch the spinoff series in the July issue of Akita Publishing’s Monthly Shōnen Champion magazine, which will be released on June 6, 2025. This side story promises to explore the hidden histories and relationships within the Momotarou clan, adding layers of complexity to the existing narrative of “Tougen Anki”.
The Premise of “Tougen Anki”
“Tougen Anki” presents a world where the bloodlines of Oni (demons) and Momotarou have been passed down through generations of humans. Long ago, the Oni, aware of their own violent nature, chose to live in seclusion. However, their peace was shattered by an invasion led by Momotaro, sparking a conflict that has persisted for thousands of years.
In the modern era, these two factions have evolved into the “Momotaro Agency” and the “Oni Agency,” locked in a perpetual struggle. The main story follows Shiki Ichinose, who discovers his Oni lineage after being attacked by members of the Momotaro Agency. This revelation sends him on a journey to uncover his destiny and confront the Oni dwelling within him.
