The popular webtoon With Vengeance, Sincerely, Your Broken Saintess, written by Aminohada and drawn by SORAJIMA, is getting a “light anime” adaptation. The series is slated to premiere sometime in 2025.
What is “Light Anime?”
Animation ID uses the term “light anime” to describe a motion comic, which features a simpler animation style to reduce production time and costs. Other “light anime” projects by Animation ID include Lockdown Zone: Level X, Maarui Kanojo to Zannen na Kareshi, and Moriarty’s Perfect Crime.
Story Synopsis
With Vengeance, Sincerely, Your Broken Saintess follows the story of Lua, a saintess candidate with the power of healing. However, her ability has a significant drawback: she can only heal others by transferring their wounds to herself. This leads to her being bullied and called the “Fallen Saintess”.
Lua finds solace in her best friend, Arianne, who always defends her. One day, Lua’s crush, Commander Garrett, is critically injured in a beast attack. Lua heals him, putting herself on the verge of death. When she recovers, she discovers that Arianne has taken credit for her sacrifice, revealing her true colors.
Devastated and lost, Lua is approached by the second prince, who offers her a tempting proposition. This marks the beginning of Lua’s new life as a villainess.

The original webtoon manga is written by Aminohada and drawn by SORAJIMA. It was first launched on Comico on August 3, 2022. Ichijinsha publishes the webtoon’s physical volumes, with two volumes released as of September 2024. Pocket Comics releases the webtoon in English.
