What to Expect in the Second Cour

Here’s what we know about the upcoming episodes:

  • Premiere Date: July 14, 2025
  • Streaming Platform: Netflix (worldwide)
  • Animation Studio: TMS Entertainment

The first cour of the anime adaptation, which aired from January 11 to March 22, 2025, covered a lot of ground, introducing viewers to the world of Taro Sakamoto, a legendary hitman who traded his dangerous life for a peaceful one as a convenience store owner. However, his past refuses to stay buried, and Sakamoto must protect his family and newfound friends from the dangers of the assassin world.

New Opening Theme Song

A new opening theme song will be featured in the second cour, adding to the excitement. The first opening theme song was “Hashire Sakamoto” (走れSAKAMOTO, lit. ‘Run, Sakamoto’), performed by Vaundy, while the first ending theme song was “Futsū” (普通, lit. ‘Normal’), performed by Conton Candy.

What is Sakamoto Days All About?

Sakamoto Days is an action-comedy manga series created by Yuto Suzuki. The story revolves around Taro Sakamoto, a former legendary hitman who was feared by villains and admired by other assassins. However, he falls in love with Aoi, a convenience store clerk, and decides to leave his life of violence behind to marry her.

Years later, Sakamoto is now overweight and running a small convenience store with his wife and daughter. Despite his appearance, he retains his incredible fighting skills. The story kicks off when a young hitman named Shin Asakura, who has clairvoyant abilities, is sent to either convince Sakamoto to return to the assassin world or eliminate him. Shin quickly realizes that Sakamoto is still a force to be reckoned with, and Sakamoto takes Shin under his wing.

As Sakamoto tries to maintain a normal life, his past continues to haunt him. Former enemies and new threats emerge, forcing him to protect his family and friends. With the help of Shin and other allies, Sakamoto faces off against various adversaries while trying to adhere to his wife’s no-kill policy.
