Get ready, Dan Da Dan fans! The second season of the thrilling paranormal anime is just around the corner, and a brand-new trailer has dropped, giving us a sneak peek at the action and, most excitingly, a taste of the new opening theme song. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming season.

Season 2 is Coming Soon!

Mark your calendars! Dan Da Dan Season 2 is officially set to premiere on July 3, 2025, bringing Momo, Okarun, and their supernatural battles back to our screens. For those eager to dive in even earlier, the first three episodes, titled Dan Da Dan: Evil Eye, will be released in theaters internationally starting in late May and early June.

  • July 3, 2025: Season 2 premiere on Crunchyroll and Netflix.
  • May 30 – June 7, 2025: Theatrical release of Dan Da Dan: Evil Eye in select regions.

A New Theme Song to Get Hyped About

The latest trailer not only teases the intense battles and deeper storylines of Season 2 but also introduces the new opening theme song, “Kakumei Dōchū” (translated as “On the Way”), performed by the incredible AiNA THE END. This high-energy track promises to set the tone for another season of supernatural chaos and adventure.

What to Expect in Season 2

Storyline

Season 2 is expected to dive into the “Cursed House Arc,” adapting chapter 34 onwards from the manga. The first season ended around chapter 33, so this is a natural progression. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Cursed House Arc Continues: Momo, Okarun, and Jiji will continue exploring the mysteries surrounding Jiji’s haunted home.
  • Evil Eye Threat: The ominous spirit known as the Evil Eye will emerge as a major antagonist, seeking to eradicate humanity and taking control of Jiji’s body.
  • Epic Battles: The trailer teases an intense showdown between Okarun and the Evil Eye, promising high-stakes action.
  • Character Development: Momo and Okarun’s relationship will continue to evolve, with hints of romance amidst the chaos.
  • New Characters: Keep an eye out for the introduction of new characters like Kinta and Bamora during the Kaiju Arc.

Plot Details

Dan Da Dan follows the story of Momo Ayase, a high school girl who believes in ghosts but not aliens, and Ken “Okarun” Takakura, an occult geek who believes in aliens but not ghosts. They challenge each other to visit paranormal hotspots, leading to the discovery that both ghosts and aliens are real. Momo awakens hidden psychic powers, and Okarun gains the power of a curse, setting them on a path to battle supernatural forces.

Dan Da Dan: Evil Eye

The first three episodes of Season 2 will be released in theaters as Dan Da Dan: Evil Eye. The trailer offers a glimpse into the storyline, which involves the Evil Eye seizing control of Jiji’s body.

Production

  • Studio: Science SARU.
  • Directors: Fuga Yamashiro and Abel Gongora.
  • Scriptwriter: Hiroshi Seko.
  • Character Designer: Naoyuki Onda.
  • Music Composer: Kensuke Ushio.

Streaming Platforms

  • Crunchyroll
  • Netflix

Here are some of the main Japanese voice cast members:

Where Season 1 Left Off

Season 1 concluded with Momo being attacked by creepy old men at a hot spring, while Okarun and Jiji discovered a hidden room filled with talismans in Jiji’s home. This sets the stage for the Cursed House Arc, where the trio will face a psychotic family making human sacrifices to a mythical creature known as the Tsuchinoko.

Manga Origins

Dan Da Dan began as a manga series written and illustrated by Yukinobu Tatsu, serialized in Shueisha’s Shōnen Jump+ since April 2021. As of April 2025, the series has been compiled into 19 tankōbon volumes.

Why You Should Watch

Dan Da Dan has garnered praise for its thrilling plot, unique blend of genres (action, romantic comedy, supernatural thriller), and well-developed characters. The series stands out with its vibrant animation, unpredictable twists, and a perfect balance of humor, horror, and heart.

Final Thoughts

With a new trailer, a confirmed release date, and a killer opening theme by AiNA THE END, Dan Da Dan Season 2 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting anime releases of 2025. Get ready to dive back into the world of aliens, ghosts, and supernatural battles!
