Onmyō Kaiten Re:verse is an original anime series created by Fujiko Sakuno, with Hideya Takahashi serving as the director and also credited with the original concept. The anime is being animated by David Production, the studio renowned for its work on JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Fire Force, Cells at Work!, and the recent Urusei Yatsura reboot.

Plot Overview

Onmyō Kaiten Re:verse tells the story of Takeru Narihira, a delinquent high school student who finds himself transported to an alternate version of Heian-kyō (the old name of Kyoto) called Denji Heian-kyō. This alternate world is a technologically advanced version of the Heian era capital.

In Denji Heian-kyō, Takeru encounters Tsukimiya, a mysterious girl who has repeatedly appeared in his dreams. However, their meeting is short-lived as they are both killed by an Oni monster. Takeru then awakens to find himself back in Denji Heian-kyō, realizing he has the power to leap through time.

Determined to save Tsukimiya and prevent her death, Takeru resolves to learn the mystical arts of Onmyōjutsu and become an Onmyōji sorcerer. He trains with Abe no Seimei, a powerful Onmyōji, to fight against the dark forces threatening Denji Heian-kyō and protect the girl he is destined to save.
