The anime series is a spin-off and prequel to the main “My Hero Academia” story, taking place five years before the events of Izuku Midoriya’s journey. The manga, written by Hideyuki Furuhashi and illustrated by Betten Court, ran from 2016 to 2022 and concluded with 15 volumes.
Studio Bones Film is producing the anime adaptation, with Kenichi Suzuki directing and Yōsuke Kuroda handling series scripts. Crunchyroll is streaming the series. The first episode premiered on April 7, 2025. The season is expected to cover approximately 28 chapters of the manga, concluding around the end of the Queen Bee arc. The final episode of the first season, Episode 13, is scheduled to be released on June 30, 2025.
