Kyoto Animation has released a new promotional video for the upcoming film, Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: A Lonely Dragon Wants to Be Loved, which specifically highlights battle scenes. The film is set to premiere in Japan on June 27, 2025, screening in 199 theaters nationwide, and will also be available in immersive 4DX and MX4D formats.
While previous trailers have focused on aspects such as the ending theme song, “Bokutachi no Hibi” by Sachiko Kobayashi, and a “Parent and Child Edition” featuring Kanna’s father, Kimun Kamui, this new video focuses on the dynamic action that the series is also known for. The Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid franchise, adapted from Coolkyoushinja’s manga, has garnered praise for its well-animated and choreographed fight scenes, often noted for their quality within a largely slice-of-life comedy.
Directed by Tatsuya Ishihara, who also helmed Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S, the movie sees the return of the beloved voice cast, including Mutsumi Tamura as Miss Kobayashi, Yūki Kuwahara as Tohru, and Maria Naganawa as Kanna. The film continues the quirky and heartwarming tale of dragons coexisting with humans, delving into themes of family and relationships while promising to elevate its signature action sequences.
