The anime film Fushigi no Kuni de Alice to -Dive in Wonderland- (With Alice in Wonderland -Dive in Wonderland-) has released its latest trailer, offering a glimpse into its fantastical world and revealing additional cast members and the film’s theme song. The movie is set to premiere in Japan on August 29, 2025.
SEKAI NO OWARI Provides Evocative Theme Song
The newly released main trailer features the film’s theme song, titled “Zukan” (Guidebook), performed by the Japanese pop band SEKAI NO OWARI. Saori, the pianist for SEKAI NO OWARI and lyricist for “Zukan,” shared her insights into the song’s creation, stating that she envisioned “images of creatures whose environment is not suitable and who have a hard time just living.” She expressed her hope that the song would make challenging days “seem a little bit cuter.”
Expanded Voice Cast Revealed
The latest preview introduces several new additions to the film’s voice cast. Subaru Kimura joins as Tweedledum, while Ayumu Murase voices Tweedledee. Yūki Ono takes on the role of Yamane (identified as Dormouse in some reports), and Natsuki Hanae will voice a mysterious apple-shaped character whose name has not yet been officially announced.
These new cast members join a previously announced ensemble of talented voice actors. Nanoka Hara stars as Rise, the modern-day protagonist who stumbles into Wonderland, and Maika Pugh lends her voice to Alice. The film also features Mayu Matsuoka as The Queen of Hearts, Kōji Yamamoto as The Mad Hatter, Norito Yashima as The March Hare, Ryūichi Kosugi as Humpty Dumpty, Kappei Yamaguchi as The White Rabbit, Toshiyuki Morikawa as The Cheshire Cat, and Takahiro Yamamoto as The Caterpillar. Shōtarō Mamiya is cast as Akira Urai (also referred to as Ko Urai), a butler who invites Rise to Wonderland, and Keiko Toda voices Ayako Azumino (also referred to as Fumiko Azumino), Rise’s grandmother.
Narrative and Production Insights
The story of Dive in Wonderland centers on Rise, a college student navigating a life that isn’t going as she desires. Guided by an invitation left by her late grandmother, she enters Wonderland and encounters Alice. Together, they embark on an adventure encountering the whimsical and sometimes chaotic inhabitants of this fantastical realm.
The film is directed by Toshiya Shinohara, known for his work on Black Butler and A Lull in the Sea, at P.A. Works studio. Yūko Kakihara, who penned scripts for Blue Box and Urusei Yatsura 2022, is responsible for the screenplay. Shochiku and TBS are listed as production coordinators for the film.
