Aniplex has unveiled the first three minutes of the upcoming “Silent Witch” anime, alongside the introduction of a new cast member and details regarding its opening theme song. The fantasy light novel adaptation is set to premiere on July 4, 2025, broadcasting on channels such as Tokyo MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, and BS11 in Japan, with Crunchyroll streaming the series globally.
A Glimpse into the World of Monica Everett
The recently released three-minute preview offers an initial look at the anime’s world and its protagonist, Monica Everett. This sneak peek, posted on the Japanese Aniplex YouTube channel, primarily features an interaction between Monica and Annie, providing viewers with a taste of the series’ tone and character dynamics. The anime adapts Matsuri Isora and Nanna Fujimi’s popular light novel series, known in English as Secrets of the Silent Witch, which follows Monica Everett, a powerful mage who is, ironically, super-duper shy and learned voiceless magic to avoid speaking in public. Her current mission involves secretly guarding the Second Prince, Felix Arc Ridill, at the prestigious Serendia Academy.
New Voice Joins the Ensemble
Adding to the growing cast, Ai Kayano has been announced as a new voice actress, portraying the character Claudia. Claudia is described as a “walking library,” suggesting a role that could be pivotal in providing information or guidance within the narrative. Kayano joins an already established cast that includes Saya Aizawa as the protagonist Monica Everett, Hitomi Nabatame as Nero, Junichi Suwabe as Louis Miller, Atsumi Tanezaki as Isabelle Norton, Shōgo Sakata as Felix Arc Ridill, Kanna Nakamura as Lana Colette, Yoshiki Nakajima as Cyril Ashley, Ryōhei Kimura as Elliott Howard, Yuki Sakakihara as Neil Clay Maywood, Yōko Hikasa as Bridget Greyham, and M.A.O as Rynzbelfeid.
“Feel” to Set the Tone
The opening theme song for the “Silent Witch” anime will be “Feel,” performed by the alternative rock band hitsujibungaku. This track is scheduled to begin streaming in Japan on July 4, coinciding with the anime’s premiere. Hitsujibungaku is also credited with performing the ending theme song, “mild days.” The musical score for the series is composed by Cygames and Rina Tayama.
The anime is directed by Yasuo Iwamoto, with Takaomi Kanasaki serving as chief director, screenwriter, and script supervisor. Studio Gokumi is responsible for the animation production, while Cona Nitanda is the animation character designer.
