The highly anticipated first film in the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle trilogy has unveiled its new trailer, confirming that renowned artists Aimer and LiSA will contribute theme songs. The film is set to premiere in Japan on July 18, 2025, with a global release by Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment scheduled to begin in August, including screenings in North America starting September 12.
Return of Fan-Favorite Artists
Both Aimer and LiSA are familiar names to Demon Slayer fans, having previously lent their voices to the franchise’s successful anime series and films. LiSA, known for her powerful vocals, performed the iconic opening theme “Gurenge” for the first season of the TV anime and “Homura” for Demon Slayer: Mugen Train. She also contributed “Akeboshi” and “Shirogane” to the Mugen Train Arc TV adaptation. Aimer made her Demon Slayer debut with “Zankyou Sanka” and “Asa ga Kuru” for the Entertainment District Arc.
For the Infinity Castle film, Aimer will perform the theme song “Taiyō ga Noboranai Sekai” (“A World Where the Sun Never Rises”), while LiSA will perform “Zankoku no Yoru ni Kagayake” (“Shine in the Cruel Night”). Both new songs are slated for release on global streaming platforms on July 18, 2025, coinciding with the film’s Japanese premiere.
The Infinity Castle Trilogy
The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle films will adapt the climactic final arc of Koyoharu Gotouge’s manga series, concluding Tanjiro Kamado’s journey against the formidable demon Muzan Kibutsuji. This trilogy format aims to provide a faithful and expansive retelling of the emotionally charged conclusion of the manga.
The narrative of the Infinity Castle arc sees the Demon Slayer Corps, after rigorous training, plunged into the mysterious, shape-shifting labyrinth controlled by Muzan himself, setting the stage for the ultimate battle for humanity’s future. The film is directed by Haruo Sotozaki and animated by ufotable, with Akira Matsushima as Chief Animation Director and Character Designer, and music by Yuki Kajiura and Go Shiina. The first film, titled Akaza’s Return, is teased with the tagline “It’s time to have some fun.”
