The highly anticipated anime adaptation of Kei Urana’s Gachiakuta manga is officially set to run for two consecutive cours, translating to a continuous half-year broadcast without breaks. This long-form run is expected to encompass a total of 24 episodes, delighting fans with an extended adaptation of the popular dark fantasy series.

The Gachiakuta anime premiered in Japan on Sunday, July 6, 2025, airing on CBC, TBS, and 26 other channels. For international viewers, Crunchyroll is exclusively streaming the anime in numerous territories, including North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS (excluding Russia and Belarus), and the Indian subcontinent. Crunchyroll is also providing an English dub for the series.

Produced by Bones Film, a subsidiary production studio of Studio Bones, the anime brings to life the gritty world created by author Kei Urana and graffiti designer Hideyoshi Andou. Fumihiko Suganuma is directing the anime, with Hiroshi Seko handling the series scripts, Satoshi Ishino in charge of character designs and serving as chief animation director, and Taku Iwasaki composing the music.

The story of Gachiakuta follows Rudo, an orphan living in the slums of a floating town. Falsely accused of murder, Rudo is cast into “The Pit,” a terrifying abyss below the city where mutated garbage beasts and discarded criminals reside. To survive this brutal new reality, Rudo must master a newfound power and join a group known as the Cleaners, who battle the monstrous inhabitants of the Pit. His ultimate goal is not only to fight monsters but also to seek vengeance against those who wrongly condemned him.
