The upcoming television anime series, Ascendance of a Bookworm: Adopted Daughter of an Archduke, has unveiled its teaser video, confirming returning cast members and introducing new staff for its Spring 2026 premiere. The new season will be produced by Wit Studio, marking a change in animation production from the previous three seasons which were handled by Ajia-do.
Returning Cast Reprise Their Roles
Fans will be pleased to know that key voice actors from the previous seasons are reprising their roles. Yuka Iguchi returns as Rozemyne, formerly Myne, the series’ protagonist whose passion for books drives the narrative. Show Hayami also returns to voice Ferdinand, a crucial character in Rozemyne’s new life as an archduke’s adopted daughter. Both actors have expressed their excitement for the new series, with Iguchi noting enthusiasm for the visual quality and new characters, and Hayami looking forward to exploring Rozemyne’s evolving challenges and complex scenes.
New and Returning Staff Helm the Production
The new season introduces Yoshiaki Iwasaki as the director, taking over from Mitsuru Hongō, who directed the anime’s first three seasons. Iwasaki’s previous works include Kowloon Generic Romance, Hayate the Combat Butler, and We Never Learn: BOKUBEN. Mariko Kunisawa will return to handle the series scripts, ensuring continuity in the storytelling. Aiko Minowa is the new character designer for the series. MICHIRU, who composed the music for previous seasons, will also return to score the new anime. Wit Studio, known for their work on SPY×FAMILY and Attack on Titan Season 3, is taking on the animation production for this installment.

This new anime adapts the third part of Miya Kazuki’s light novel series, which centers on Myne’s new life as Rozemyne, the adopted daughter of an archduke, and her continued efforts to create and disseminate books in a world where they are scarce. The light novel series, which began as a web novel in 2013 and concluded in 2017, has achieved over 11 million copies in circulation.
