The popular manga series, Fūta Kimura’s Unmei no Makimodo Shi – All Great Achievements Require Time, also known as Fate Rewinder, is officially receiving a television anime adaptation. The announcement was made through a newly launched website on Thursday, which also unveiled a super teaser visual, a promotional video, and key staff information for the upcoming series.
Esteemed Staff and Animation Studio Revealed
Directing the Fate Rewinder anime is Rie Matsumoto, a highly respected name in the industry known for her work on Blood Blockade Battlefront, the Heartcatch Precure! Hana no Miyako de Fashion Show…Desu ka!? film, and Kyousougiga. The animation production will be handled by Bones Film, a studio celebrated for its dynamic animation and high-quality productions. Story Inc. is overseeing the overall production of the anime.
Unraveling Time with the Rewinders
Unmei no Makimodo Shi – All Great Achievements Require Time delves into the world of Chrono, a young boy possessing a unique ability called the “Rewinder” in his right eye, which allows him to manipulate and rewind time. Chrono is an integral member of a specialized time police unit dedicated to altering history and preventing tragic fates by repeatedly going back in time. The manga presents Chrono with a diverse array of missions, encompassing various genres from romance and sports to thwarting terrorist attacks. The series is described as a sci-fi action comedy slice-of-life manga, and notably, it’s the first time-loop manga in the 45-year history of Shogakukan’s Coro Coro Comics magazine.
Manga’s Journey to the Screen
Fūta Kimura originally launched the Unmei no Makimodo Shi manga in Shogakukan’s Coro Coro Comics magazine in January 2022. The series quickly gained recognition, earning a nomination in the prestigious 69th Shogakukan Manga Awards in 2023. Shogakukan released the manga’s first compiled book volume in May 2022, and as of July 28, 2025, the 10th volume is slated for shipment. Prior to this television anime announcement, the manga also inspired a net anime adaptation that debuted on YouTube in spring 2022.
