Kadokawa has announced the English publication of three new manga series, set to be released digitally on platforms like BookWalker Global. The newly added titles include The Killer Cutie Next Door, Flirting with a Faux Tyrant in the Entertainment Biz, and From Bullied to Brawler: My After-Hours Education with the School’s Tough Girls. These releases aim to broaden Kadokawa’s presence in the international manga market and provide English-speaking readers with access to diverse genres.
The Killer Cutie Next Door
The Killer Cutie Next Door (original Japanese title: Tonari no Koroshiya-chan) by Jay Katō, is slated for release in chapter format on the BookWalker Global site starting July 12. The series introduces Ako Yamada, a former member of the notorious assassin organization “Orochi,” who is attempting to live a normal life working at the Piping Hot Bakery. Despite her past as a “fiendish, cold-blooded, cruel, scary” hitman, Ako is comically clumsy in everyday situations. Her desire for a peaceful existence is challenged when Nono Morino, a high school girl fascinated by urban legends, visits the bakery, and former “Orochi” members begin pursuing Ako. Katō launched the series in Kadokawa’s Young Ace magazine and on the Comic Walker platform in January 2024, with the first compiled volume shipping in August 2024.
Flirting with a Faux Tyrant in the Entertainment Biz
Takarano Island’s Flirting with a Faux Tyrant in the Entertainment Biz (original Japanese title: Bijinesu Boukun to Mezasu Happiiendo) manga will make its English debut exclusively on the BookWalker Global site in chapter format on July 18, with other digital storefronts to follow. The first four chapters will be offered for free for the initial three months. The story centers on Misora Kikuna, a 30-year-old office worker and producer of the otome game “Nanairo no tsuki” (Seven-Colored Moon). After a fatal accident involving an idol group’s car, Misora is reincarnated into the world of her own game as Sophia, the villainess. Adding to the complexity, the most popular member of the idol group POLARIS7, L Myourenji, also reincarnates as Eraldo, the villain prince and Misora’s fiancé. The series began on the Comic Walker platform and Nico Nico Seiga in January 2024, and its second compiled volume was released on November 14.
From Bullied to Brawler: My After-Hours Education with the School’s Tough Girls
The manga adaptation of Aitsu and Takao Aoyagi’s From Bullied to Brawler: My After-Hours Education with the School’s Tough Girls (original Japanese title: Hōkago wa Kenka Saikyō no Gyaru ni Tsurekomareru Seikatsu) will start releasing in chapter format on the BookWalker Global site on Monday, July 7, 2025. The narrative follows Shiki, a shy and studious student at the reputedly delinquent-filled St. Lukeman’s Academy. Targeted by a gang, Shiki initially complies with their demands to avoid physical abuse. His life changes when he helps a girl escape the gang and is subsequently rescued by Karin, the school’s “Empress” and strongest student. Karin offers to teach Shiki how to fight in exchange for tutoring in academics, setting him on a path to potential strength. Aitsu originally launched the series as a web novel in October 2022, with kakao illustrating the novels. Takao Aoyagi began the manga adaptation in Fujimi Shobo’s Dragon Age magazine in February 2024, and the second compiled manga volume shipped on March 7.
