The popular mobile game Monster Strike has seen several anime adaptations, with its first web anime series premiering in October, and a new series slated to be the franchise’s first broadcast television anime also set for an October debut.
The Original Web Anime: Monster Strike the Animation (2015)
The very first anime adaptation of the Monster Strike mobile game, titled Monster Strike the Animation, premiered as a web anime series on October 10, 2015. This initial series, consisting of 52 episodes, was released on YouTube. Although initially announced for broadcast, it ultimately debuted online. This web anime proved popular, accumulating over 100 million views by August 2016 and more than 200 million views by June 2017.
The First Broadcast TV Anime: Monster Strike: Deadverse Reloaded
A new anime series, Monster Strike: Deadverse Reloaded, is set to be the first anime in the Monster Strike franchise to premiere on broadcast television. This series is scheduled to launch in October and will run for one cours (a quarter of a year) on Tokyo MX and 44 other channels across Japan. This marks a significant step for the franchise, bringing its anime content to a wider traditional television audience.
Subsequent Anime Productions
Following the initial web anime, the Monster Strike franchise has expanded with multiple seasons, spin-offs, and films. A second season of Monster Strike premiered on April 1, 2017. This season was split into two parts, with Monster Strike The Animation: The Fading Cosmos premiering on October 7, 2017. The anime’s third season launched in July 2018. The franchise has also released several spin-off series focusing on characters like Arthur, Lucifer, and Solomon, all considered part of the overall third season.
