Hiromasa Okujima’s comedic manga series, Baban Baban Ban Vampire, is set to receive a stage play adaptation titled Bloody Love Kageki (Opera) Babanba Banban Vampire. The production is scheduled to run from September 20 to September 25, 2025, at the Tokyo International Forum Hall C.
Production Team and Creative Vision
The stage play will be directed by Keita Kawajiri, known for his work on the Mob Psycho 100 stage plays, with the script penned by Yusuke Watanabe. The theme song for the play, “ViViVi,” will be performed by Kenta Mizue and produced by Alpha Enterprise.
Cast Members Bringing Characters to Life
A talented ensemble has been announced to portray the beloved characters from the manga. Kenta Mizue will take on the role of Ranmaru Mori, while Risuto Sakimoto is cast as Lihito Tatsuno. The cast also includes Yuzuka Ide as Aoi Shinozuka, Hikaru Yamano as Ken Shinozuka, and Hiroki Sana as Umetaro Sakamoto. Rounding out the main cast are Erika Takizawa as Kaoru Yamaba, Shun Takagi as Haruhiko Tatsuno, Asahi Miu as Tamao Tatsuno, and Toshiyuki Someya as Nagayoshi Mori.
The Story of “Baban Baban Ban Vampire”
The original Baban Baban Ban Vampire manga, written and illustrated by Hiromasa Okujima, began serialization in Akita Shoten’s Bessatsu Shonen Champion magazine in October 2021. The narrative follows Ranmaru Mori, a 450-year-old vampire who works part-time at an old public bathhouse. His true desire is to find “the blood of an 18-year-old virgin,” leading him to obsessively protect the virginity of Rihito Tatsuno, the 15-year-old son of the bathhouse owner. The plot thickens when Rihito falls in love with his classmate Aoi Shinozuka, forcing Ranmaru to devise schemes to prevent Rihito from losing his virginity.
Broader Adaptations of the Manga
The stage play is the latest in a series of adaptations for Baban Baban Ban Vampire. An anime television series, produced by Gaina, aired from January to March 2025. A live-action film adaptation also premiered in Japan on July 4, 2025.
