Fans of the beloved romantic comedy anime My Dress-Up Darling can rejoice as the second season officially premiered on July 5, 2025, on Crunchyroll. The new season continues the heartwarming journey of high school students Marin Kitagawa and Wakana Gojo as they delve deeper into the vibrant world of cosplay and navigate their blossoming feelings for each other.

Premiere Details and Streaming Availability

My Dress-Up Darling Season 2 kicked off its broadcast in Japan on July 6, 2025, with international audiences gaining access slightly earlier on July 5. Crunchyroll holds the exclusive streaming rights worldwide outside of Japan, China, Korea, and Mongolia. New episodes are scheduled to premiere on Saturdays at 9:30 a.m. PDT / 12:30 p.m. EDT on Crunchyroll, with English subtitles available immediately. The English dub for the second season began airing on Saturday, July 19, 2025. The season is expected to run for 12 episodes, concluding in late September 2025.

Returning Cast and Crew

The core creative team and voice cast from the critically acclaimed first season have returned to bring the next chapter of Marin and Gojo’s story to life.

Main Voice Cast

  • Marin Kitagawa: Voiced by Hina Suguta (Japanese) and AmaLee (English).
  • Wakana Gojo: Voiced by Shoya Ishige (Japanese) and Paul Dateh (English).
  • Sajuna Inui: Voiced by Atsumi Tanezaki (Japanese).
  • Shinju Inui: Voiced by Hina Yomiya (Japanese).
  • Kaoru Gojo: Voiced by Atsushi Ono (Japanese).

New Additions to the Cast

Season 2 introduces new characters to expand Marin and Gojo’s world:

  • Amane Himeno: Voiced by Ayumu Murase.
  • Shiki Kashiwagi: Voiced by Shohei Komatsu.

Production Team

Studio CloverWorks is once again at the helm of the animation, ensuring the series maintains its distinct visual style and attention to detail.

  • Director: Keisuke Shinohara
  • Series Composition: Yoriko Tomita
  • Character Designs & Chief Animation Director: Kazumasa Ishida
  • Music: Takeshi Nakatsuka

What to Expect in Season 2

My Dress-Up Darling Season 2 picks up right where the first season left off, continuing to explore the deepening bond between Marin, a popular gyaru and aspiring cosplayer, and Gojo, a shy doll craftsman. The new season is expected to delve further into Marin’s evolving feelings for Wakana and Gojo’s increasing confidence, both as a craftsman and personally.

Fans can anticipate more intricate cosplay projects, showcasing the meticulous detail from textile choices to fittings that the series is known for. The “slow-burn romance” that captivated viewers in Season 1 is set to evolve, potentially exploring whether Marin’s confession to a sleepy Gojo at the end of the first season was heard and understood. The narrative is rumored to introduce additional characters, such as the cross-dressing Amane, and possibly cover the popular school festival arc from Shinichi Fukuda’s original manga.

The new season features a brand-new opening theme song, “Ao to Kirameki” by Spira Spica, and an ending theme, “Kawaii Kaiwai” by the new idol duo PiKi. The manga itself concluded its serialization in March 2025, providing ample source material for the anime adaptation.
