The Dekin no Mogura: The Earthbound Mole anime is based on the manga by Natsumi Eguchi, also known for Hozuki’s Coolheadedness. The story follows Momoyuki Mogura, a self-proclaimed hermit who has been banned from the afterlife. To make his comeback, Mogura collects spirit-possessed will-o’-wisps in his lantern. The narrative delves into a mysterious yet comedic world where the paths of living humans and ghosts intertwine.
The anime adaptation is directed by Hiroshi Ishiodori at studio Brain’s Base. Shinzo Fujita is handling the series composition, Yoko Tanabe is responsible for character designs, and Tomoki Hasegawa is composing the music. The opening theme song, “Kamidanomi (Plea to God),” is performed by Syudou, while Mirin Sheeno and Aile The Shota perform the ending theme, “Kensō (Hustle and Bustle).”
