Suu Minazuki, the acclaimed manga artist known for Heaven’s Lost Property, is set to launch a new manga series titled Saigo no Negai ni Tsuki ga Naku (The Moon Cries at My Last Wish) on August 26. The new series will debut in Kadokawa’s Shōnen Ace magazine.

A New Tale of Humans Versus Vampires

The September issue of Kadokawa’s Shōnen Ace magazine made the announcement, teasing Saigo no Negai ni Tsuki ga Naku as a “humans vs. vampires” story. The plot will center on two childhood friends, Niizuki and Asahi, who live on a small island.

The narrative takes a dark turn when Asahi, usually wary of the night, attends a summer festival in their village. During the festival, Asahi inadvertently unseals a local shrine, unleashing an angelic yet bewitching vampire girl who transforms the festivities into a massacre.

Minazuki’s Prolific Career

Suu Minazuki is a well-known Japanese manga artist from Asakura, Fukuoka Prefecture. He is best recognized for his fantasy comedy manga series Heaven’s Lost Property, which received anime television series and film adaptations.

Minazuki recently concluded his Excellent Property, Rejects for Residents (Yūryō Bukken Mō Dame Sō: Furo, Toilet to Tenshi wa Kyōdō Desu) manga in August 2024, with its fifth and final volume released in October 2024. He began that series in Shōnen Ace in December 2022, and Yen Press publishes it in English.

His past works also include Dokunie Cooking (Cooking Poisoned Offerings), which ran from October 2017 to March 2019 in Hakusensha’s Young Animal magazine. Additionally, Minazuki’s Sora no Otoshimono (Heaven’s Lost Property) ran in Monthly Shōnen Ace from March 2007 to January 2014, inspiring two TV anime series, two anime films, and an OVA. Tokyopop and later Viz Media published his five-volume Judas manga in English, and Yen Press released his four-volume Gou-dere Sora Nagihara manga between 2014 and 2015.
