Kiyono Yasuno, a renowned Japanese singer and voice actress, will perform the opening theme song titled “Algorithm” for the upcoming second season of the Let This Grieving Soul Retire! (Nageki no Bōrei wa Intai Shitai: Saijaku Hunter ni Yoru Saikyō Party Ikusei-jutsu) anime series. The new season is set to premiere in October, airing on MBS, Tokyo MX, BS NTV, Sun TV, and AT-X.
Anticipation for Season 2
The announcement of a second season for Let This Grieving Soul Retire! was made on the anime’s official website, accompanied by an illustration from original character designer Chiiko and a promotional video. The sequel was confirmed shortly after the conclusion of the first season in December. Crunchyroll has also announced that it will stream the second season when it premieres.
“Algorithm” and Musical Contributions
Kiyono Yasuno, known for her diverse vocal work in anime, will provide “Algorithm” as the opening theme, setting the tone for Krai Andrey’s continued reluctant adventures. Yasuno has previously contributed to other anime series, including performing the opening theme for Restaurant to Another World 2 and the ending theme for Arte.
Meanwhile, the ending theme song for the second season, titled “Yume no Hitokakera” (Fragment of a Dream), will be performed by i☆Ris.
The World of Let This Grieving Soul Retire!
The Let This Grieving Soul Retire! anime adapts Tsukikage and Chyko’s light novel series. The story centers on Krai Andrey, who, despite being part of a group of six childhood friends destined to become the strongest treasure hunters, realizes he’s not cut out for the job. However, his friends insist on making him their leader, leading to a series of reluctant adventures as Krai secretly longs for retirement.
Production and Cast
The first season of the anime, produced by Zero-G, began airing in October. Masahiro Takata, who directed the first season, is also credited as the sound director, with Saber Links handling sound production. The main cast members are set to reprise their roles for the second season, including:

Light Novel and Manga Background
The original Let This Grieving Soul Retire! light novel series by Tsukikage, with illustrations by Chyko, began serialization on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in January 2018. Micro Magazine started publishing the print volumes in August of the same year. J-Novel Club is publishing the light novels in English.
A manga adaptation, illustrated by Rai Hebino, has been serialized on the ComicWalker website since April 2019, with Kadokawa releasing the compiled volumes. Yen Press holds the English license for the manga adaptation.
