The World of Gnosia: A Social Deduction Thriller
The Gnosia anime adapts the popular sci-fi social deduction RPG developed by Petit Depotto and published by PLAYISM. The story centers on the crew of a drifting spaceship who find themselves caught in a perilous situation: a mysterious and deadly threat known as “Gnosia” has infiltrated their ranks. These inhuman monsters eliminate crew members one by one while pretending to be human. To survive, the remaining humans must engage in debates and discussions to uncover the Gnosia hidden among them, then vote to put the most suspicious individuals into “cold sleep.” The game and, by extension, the anime, incorporate a time-loop structure, resetting the scenario regardless of the outcome, adding layers of mystery and replayability.
Key Staff Behind the Adaptation
The anime is being directed by Kazuya Ichikawa (known for The World Ends With You: The Animation) at studio domerica. Jukki Hanada (Steins;Gate, Girls Band Cry) is handling the series composition and scripts, while Arisa Matsuura is responsible for character designs. The music is being composed by Hideyuki Fukasawa (Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works). Additional staff members include Ayumi Kamata and Mari Takada as art directors, and Tatsuya Nomura as director of photography.
