The upcoming anime film, You and Idol Pretty Cure: Omatase! Kimi ni Todokeru Kirakilive! (You and Idol Pretty Cure The Movie: Sorry for Waiting! Kirakilive Delivered to You!), has announced the addition of prominent voice actresses Maaya Uchida and Ayane Sakura to its cast. The film is set to open in Japanese theaters on September 12, 2025.
Uchida will lend her voice to Tera, a mysterious red-haired girl who expresses a dislike for idols and holds the key to the secrets of AiAi Island. Sakura will voice Amasu, the legendary goddess of AiAi Island.
A New Adventure on AiAi Island
The You and Idol Pretty Cure film’s narrative unfolds during the “Super Miracle Idol Festival,” which is billed as the universe’s premier idol festival, taking place on AiAi Island. Protagonist Uta and her companions, who are also idols from various parts of the world, find themselves invited to this grand event. It is on this island that Uta encounters Tera. The festivities take a perilous turn when mysterious monsters, known as Yami Kurage, emerge from the sea, turning the island’s inhabitants to stone and forcing the five Precures to confront this new crisis.
Returning and New Characters
The film will not only feature the main cast of You and Idol Precure but will also include characters from the two preceding Pretty Cure series: Wonderful Pretty Cure! and Soaring Sky! Pretty Cure. Additionally, five new Precure characters – Cure Idol, Cure Wink, Cure Kyun-Kyun, Cure Zukyun, and Cure Kiss – are confirmed to appear. The main television series, You and Idol Pretty Cure, premiered in Japan on February 2, 2025, and is the 22nd installment in the long-running Pretty Cure franchise. Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs.
Voice Acting Talent Joins the Franchise
Maaya Uchida’s involvement marks her second appearance in the Precure franchise, following her role as a young Empress Underg in the 20th TV series, Soaring Sky! Precure. Ayane Sakura’s role as Amasu, however, will be her debut in the Precure series. Both voice actresses have expressed their excitement about joining the beloved magical girl franchise.

The film’s official website and a teaser trailer were released on April 19, 2025, confirming the September 12, 2025 release date. Attendees in Japan who are middle school age or younger will receive a “Miracle Ai-Ai Brace” as a theater gift, with a limited run of 500,000 units. A nationwide concert tour accompanying the film will feature the movie’s theme song, with participating theaters streaming the tour’s final stop as a live viewing event.
