SNK has released an animated trailer for the highly anticipated crossover between its new fighting game, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, and Capcom’s iconic Street Fighter franchise. The video, directed by Masami Ōbari, who also served as animation director and creative producer, highlights the integration of Street Fighter characters into the Fatal Fury universe.

A Legendary Crossover Comes to Life

The animated video showcases the celebrated characters from both fighting game series, marking a significant moment for fans. This collaboration extends beyond just character appearances, as Fatal Fury‘s Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui have already been confirmed as guest characters in Street Fighter 6. This reciprocal exchange deepens the connection between these two legendary fighting game universes.

Street Fighter Characters Join the Fray

The crossover introduces fan-favorite Street Fighter characters Ken Masters and Chun-Li to the Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves roster. Ken Masters arrived as a playable DLC character on August 4, 2025, with Chun-Li slated to follow in Winter 2025. Ken’s inclusion brings his classic moveset, including the Hadoken and Shoryuken, into the Fatal Fury gameplay.

The integration of Ken Masters is part of the game’s version 1.3.1 patch, which also introduces the iconic Suzaku Castle stage, allowing players to battle in the familiar moonlit arena. Additionally, the collaboration brings new sound effects, menu artwork, and a jukebox selection featuring tracks from the Street Fighter franchise, enhancing the blend of both series’ aesthetics and sounds.

About Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is the seventh main installment in the Fatal Fury series and the first new entry in 26 years, following Garou: Mark of the Wolves (1999). Developed by KOF Studio and published by SNK, the game was released on April 24, 2025, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S. It is a 2.5D fighting game, similar to other contemporary SNK titles like Samurai Shodown (2019) and The King of Fighters XV (2022).

The game features an innovative “REV System” and a host of robust battle systems. City of the Wolves is notable for being the first Fatal Fury game to include guest characters not originally created by SNK, such as professional footballer Cristiano Ronaldo and DJ Salvatore Ganacci, who are part of the base roster. The Street Fighter characters, Ken and Chun-Li, are part of the first season pass for the game.

Impact on the Fighting Game Community

The addition of Street Fighter characters and the animated crossover video are expected to generate significant excitement within the fighting game community (FGC). The collaboration serves to further bridge two of the most influential fighting game franchises, offering fans unique gameplay opportunities and expanding the narrative possibilities of both universes. The game has also been a part of major esports events, including the Esports World Cup. The ongoing support, including DLC characters and balance updates, aims to maintain competitive interest and player engagement in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.
