Fans of the long-running mystery anime Detective Conan are in for a treat, as a second wave of specially curated episodes, featuring a brand-new English dub, is set to hit Netflix and Crunchyroll on August 21. This new batch continues the “Conan vs. The Black Organization” selection, including episodes previously unavailable in the U.S.

Expanding Detective Conan’s Reach

TMS Entertainment announced that these additional episodes will stream in both Japanese with English subtitles and with a new English dub, marking a significant push to expand the series’ accessibility to international audiences. This follows the initial release of the first batch of “Conan vs. The Black Organization” episodes on July 3, which also introduced the new English dub across both platforms.

The arrival on Netflix marks the first-ever U.S. release of Detective Conan on the platform, while Crunchyroll debuts the all-new English dub for the series. This new dub is distinct from prior English adaptations, such as the Funimation and Bang Zoom! dubs, though it does see some voice actors reprise roles or take on new characters. For instance, Mark Stoddard returns as Inspector Megure, and Colleen Clinkenbeard, who voiced Ran in the original dub, now voices Vermouth. The decision was made to drop the “Case Closed” title previously used in some Western releases, opting to stick with the original Detective Conan.

Conan vs. The Black Organization: A Curated Collection

The “Conan vs. The Black Organization” collection focuses on key episodes that highlight the titular main antagonists of the series, providing both new and long-time fans with a streamlined entry point into the sprawling narrative. Many of these selected episodes have never been officially released in the U.S. before, making this a notable event for the series’ dedicated fanbase. The first set of episodes included numbers 1-2, 128, 129 (a two-hour special), 176-178, and 230-231.

Detective Conan follows the story of high school detective Shinichi Kudo, who is transformed into a child after a treacherous encounter with a mysterious criminal organization. Adopting the alias Conan Edogawa, he secretly solves numerous cases while living with his childhood friend Ran Mouri and her bumbling private detective father, Kogoro Mouri, all while seeking to uncover the truth behind the Black Organization and regain his original body. The series is renowned for its intricate plots and enduring popularity.

Celebrating 30 Years of Mystery

This expanded streaming availability comes as TMS Entertainment gears up to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Detective Conan anime series in January 2026. As part of the ongoing festivities, a “Detective Conan: Cinema Saturdays” campaign is also underway on YouTube, with theatrical films from the franchise being made available for free streaming weekly on the “Anime! on TMS Official Channel.” These YouTube releases also mark the first time many Detective Conan movies are available in English on the platform, further expanding the franchise’s global reach. Films like Detective Conan: The Darkest Nightmare, Detective Conan: Zero the Enforcer, and Detective Conan: Countdown to Heaven were part of the initial movie streaming schedule. Later films such as Detective Conan: Sunflowers of Inferno, Detective Conan: Dimensional Sniper, and Detective Conan: The Scarlet Bullet were also slated for the YouTube campaign in August.
