Manga creator Tsukasa Hazumi has officially launched a new series titled With U ~Katawara ni Kasuka ni Hisomu Mono~ (With U ~Something Lurks Faintly Nearby~). The new “occult horror” manga debuted on Mag Garden’s Mag Comi website on Friday, with its first two chapters immediately available to readers.
Delving into the Supernatural with “With U”
The story of With U introduces readers to Susumu Sakane, a young boy who finds himself thrust into a world of supernatural phenomena when he is attacked by a mysterious creature during a shrine visit with a friend. His perilous encounter leads to his rescue by an enigmatic organization simply known as “With U.” This organization is dedicated to tracking and resolving supernatural incidents, setting the stage for an intriguing series filled with mystery and dread.
Tsukasa Hazumi’s Previous Works and Style
Tsukasa Hazumi is known for their distinctive storytelling and artistic style. Prior to With U, Hazumi gained recognition for The Wind That Reaches the Ends of the World (Sekai no Hate ni mo Kaze wa Fuku). A one-shot chapter of this manga was initially published in Mag Comi in September 2019, followed by a full serialization that began in June 2020. The Wind That Reaches the Ends of the World concluded in August 2022, with Mag Garden releasing two compiled book volumes. J-Novel Club is currently releasing the English translation of this earlier work, with the second volume having been released in January 2024. The launch of With U marks Hazumi’s return to the pages of Mag Comi, offering fans a fresh dive into a new world of occult horror.
