HIDIVE has officially announced that it will stream the highly anticipated anime adaptation of My Gift Lvl 9999 Unlimited Gacha: Backstabbed in a Backwater Dungeon, I’m Out for Revenge! as part of its Fall 2025 simulcast lineup, with the series set to debut on October 3. The fantasy revenge tale will be available to audiences in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.
An Isekai-Adjacent Tale of Betrayal and Vengeance
The anime, often abbreviated to My Gift Lvl 9999 Unlimited Gacha due to its extensive original title, follows the arduous journey of a young adventurer named Light. Light possesses a seemingly useless ability known as “Unlimited Gacha,” which allows him to summon an infinite number of cards for allies and items. His life takes a dark turn when he is betrayed and left for dead by his comrades in the “Abyss,” the world’s most perilous dungeon.
However, Light soon discovers that the magical energy within the Abyss imbues his unique gift with formidable power, enabling him to draw “Level 9999” cards. This newfound strength allows him to summon incredibly powerful allies, such as Mei, a Level 9999 seeker maid. Over the course of three years, Light leverages his enhanced abilities to construct a formidable kingdom deep underground, populated by loyal Level 9999 fighters. Now, as a powerful Overlord, Light prepares to resurface and exact his revenge on those who betrayed him.
From Light Novel to Animated Screen
My Gift Lvl 9999 Unlimited Gacha: Backstabbed in a Backwater Dungeon, I’m Out for Revenge! originated as a popular light novel series penned by Shisui Meikyo with character designs by tef. The series also boasts a manga adaptation illustrated by Takafumi Omae. Anime studio J.C. Staff, known for its extensive work on various anime titles, is handling the animation production for this adaptation.
Key figures bringing this revenge fantasy to life include Katsushi Sakurabi as the director and Hiroshi Onogi overseeing the series composition and script. The main cast features Jinna Tamaki lending his voice to the protagonist Light, while Ikumi Hasegawa voices the powerful ally Mei. The narrative promises an action-packed fantasy with themes of betrayal, resilience, and ultimate retribution.
