Fans of the epic battles between gods and humanity can rejoice as the latest trailer for Record of Ragnarok Season 3 has dropped, revealing key new cast members and the much-anticipated ending theme song, ahead of its December 2025 premiere exclusively on Netflix. The trailer also offered a glimpse into the intense seventh battle of Ragnarok, promising more of the high-stakes combat the series is known for.

New Voices Join the Pantheon of Gods and Heroes

The upcoming third season introduces several pivotal characters, expanding the already star-studded cast. Makoto Furukawa joins as the brilliant inventor Nikola Tesla, Daisuke Namikawa takes on the enigmatic Beelzebub, Hiroshi Shirokuma voices the legendary King Leonidas, and Kenichi Suzumura steps into the role of Apollo.

In addition to these formidable fighters, the trailer also confirmed new additions to the Valkyrie lineup, with Shiori Mikami cast as Alvitr, Misako Tomioka as Göndul, and Mai Toudoh as Geirölul. These new voices will undoubtedly bring fresh depth to the ongoing struggle for humanity’s survival.

Familiar voices will also return, including Kaito Ishikawa as Qin Shi Huang, Ryotaro Okiayu as Hades, Miyuki Sawashiro as Brunhilde, Tomoyo Kurosawa as Göll, Wataru Takagi as Zeus, Junichi Suwabe as Hermes, and Hinata Tadokoro as Ares.

Saori Hayami to Perform Season 3’s Ending Theme

The ending theme song for Record of Ragnarok Season 3 will be “Last breath, Last record,” performed by acclaimed voice actress and artist Saori Hayami. Hayami, celebrating her 10th anniversary as an artist this year, also penned the lyrics for the song, ensuring it resonates deeply with the anime’s worldview. The digital single for “Last breath, Last record” is slated for a December 2025 release, coinciding with the anime’s debut.

Hayami expressed her thoughts on the song, stating, “The quiet tension when facing battle. The urge welling up deep within their chest. The determination to move forward no matter what the circumstances. Reeling those images, we created the most intense song in my career.”

Production Details and Anticipated Battles

Record of Ragnarok Season 3 will continue the high-stakes tournament where 13 chosen human champions face off against 13 powerful gods in one-on-one battles to decide the fate of humanity. The new season is set to tackle the pivotal seventh battle, which will aim to break a 3-3 tie between the gods and humans.

The production of the third season sees some staff changes. Koichi Hatsumi (known for Tokyo Revengers) takes over as director, with Yasuyuki Muto (Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway) as the main writer. Character design duties are now handled by Yoko Tanabe and Hisashi Kawashima, while Yasuharu Takanashi returns to compose the music. Animation will be handled by Yumeta Company and newcomer MARU Animation, with Graphinica no longer listed in the production credits.

The anime, based on the popular manga by Shinya Umemura (story), Takumi Fukui (story structure), and Azychika (illustration), has garnered a significant following since its debut. With a new trailer showcasing the intense action and fresh talent, anticipation for the December 2025 release of Record of Ragnarok Season 3 on Netflix is at an all-time high.
