Second Season of “Farming Life in Another World” Set for 2026
The announcement of Farming Life in Another World Season 2 came with a teaser visual and trailer, reigniting excitement for the “chill isekai crowd.” The new season is slated to continue the agricultural adventures of Hiraku and his growing community in the Great Tree Village.
Ryōichi Kuraya, who directed the first season, will return to helm the second season at Studio ZERO-G, also taking on series composition and script duties. Yoshiko Saitō will continue as both character designer and chief animation director. The musical score will once again be handled by Yasuharu Takanashi and Johannes Nilsson.
The main voice cast is also set to reprise their roles, with Atsushi Abe as Hiraku Machio, Shino Shimoji as Loo (Rurushi Ru), Aya Suzaki as Tia, and Lynn as Ria. Other returning cast members include Miyu Tomita as Flora, Yukiyo Fujii as Ann, Machico as Senna, and Natsumi Hioka as Rasutisumoon.
The first season, which aired from January to March 2023, was praised for its cozy vibes and focus on community building. The story follows Hiraku Machio, a man who, after dying from a terminal illness, is reincarnated into a fantasy world with a healthy body and an “Almighty Farming Tool” by a benevolent god. His wish to live a peaceful farming life leads him to develop a village in the “Forest of Death,” attracting a diverse array of residents including vampires, elves, beastmen, and angels. The upcoming season promises more new crops, companions, and adventures, continuing Hiraku’s relaxed yet lively countryside life.
The confirmation of the second season was initially revealed through an obi (promotional paper strip) wrapped around the upcoming 19th volume of the light novel series, which also noted that the series has surpassed 5.7 million copies in circulation.
First Game Adaptation: “Farming Life in Another World -Dreamy Life-“
Alongside the anime’s continuation, the Farming Life in Another World franchise is expanding into the gaming world with its first browser game, Farming Life in Another World -Dreamy Life-. While specific gameplay details are still emerging, the title suggests a focus on the serene and community-building aspects that define the series. Pre-registration for the game is now open and will support Japanese, English, Traditional Chinese, and Korean languages.
This marks a significant step for the franchise, bringing Hiraku’s unique blend of agriculture and fantasy to an interactive format. The game is expected to allow fans to immerse themselves further into the world of Great Tree Village and experience the challenges and rewards of building a thriving farm in a magical land.
The Enduring Appeal of “Farming Life in Another World”
The light novel series, written by Kinosuke Naito and illustrated by Yasumo, began online via Shōsetsuka ni Narō in December 2016 before being acquired by Enterbrain. A manga adaptation by Yasuyuki Tsurugi has also been serialized since November 2017.
The charm of Farming Life in Another World lies in its gentle, slice-of-life approach to the isekai genre, offering a refreshing contrast to action-heavy fantasy narratives. Viewers appreciate the focus on small community solutions, laid-back humor, and the wholesome development of Hiraku’s village. The series has successfully carved out a niche as a “comfort watch” for many, promising more delightful moments with its upcoming second season and new game adaptation.
