Arata Yamaji’s fantasy manga, Hoshi-kui Koroshi Egnaro (Egnaro the Killer of the Stareater), has been canceled. The announcement was made in the October issue of Kadokawa’s Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh magazine on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. The reason cited for the cancellation is “various circumstances” that led to Yamaji being able to work on the series only intermittently.

Arata Yamaji’s Prior Works
Arata Yamaji is also known for his work on A Certain Scientific Accelerator (Toaru Majutsu no Index Gaiden: Toaru Kagaku no Accelerator), a popular manga spinoff series. This series, based on the A Certain Magical Index character Accelerator, began its serialization in Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh in 2013 and concluded in July 2020. Kadokawa released 12 compiled volumes for A Certain Scientific Accelerator, with Seven Seas Entertainment publishing the English version.
