Yūya Kanzaki’s manga series, “Koko wa Kazoku ga Kieru Machi” (This is a Town Where Families Disappear), is officially moving from Shueisha’s Grand Jump Mucha magazine to its parent publication, Grand Jump. The transition began with Grand Jump’s 22nd issue, released on October 15.

The announcement came via this year’s September issue of Grand Jump Mucha. This move signifies a notable development for the series, which initially debuted in Grand Jump Mucha on April 23.

Understanding Grand Jump and Grand Jump Mucha

Grand Jump is a prominent Japanese biweekly seinen manga magazine published by Shueisha. Launched on November 16, 2011, it emerged from the merger of two other seinen manga magazines, Business Jump and Super Jump, in response to the evolving landscape of the seinen manga market and changing reader tastes. Targeting “liberated adults,” Grand Jump is published twice a month, typically on the first and third Wednesdays, and features around 300 pages per issue.

Grand Jump Mucha, the magazine where “Koko wa Kazoku ga Kieru Machi” began its serialization, is a rebranded version of Grand Jump Premium. This sister publication often hosts series before they potentially move to the main Grand Jump magazine.

The Series and Its Creator

“Koko wa Kazoku ga Kieru Machi” is penned by Yūya Kanzaki. Following its move to Grand Jump, Shueisha is set to release the manga’s first compiled book volume in October. Further details regarding the plot and themes of the manga will likely become more widely available as its serialization continues in the higher-profile Grand Jump magazine.
