The highly anticipated third season of the Spy×Family anime is set to premiere on October 4, 2025. The announcement was accompanied by the reveal of a new visual, building excitement among fans for the return of the beloved Forger family.

A New Chapter for the Forger Family

The official website for the anime adaptation of Tatsuya Endō’s SPY×FAMILY manga confirmed the October 4 debut and unveiled a fresh visual. The third season will air on TV Tokyo and other networks at 23:00 JST. Promotional materials, including recent summer visuals featuring Anya Forger, have kept the series in the spotlight ahead of its return.

Returning Production Team and Cast Updates

Animation for the third season will once again be handled by the collaborative efforts of WIT Studio and CloverWorks, maintaining the distinct visual style fans have come to appreciate. Yukiko Imai is taking over as director for the third season, replacing Kazuhiro Furuhashi and Takahiro Harada. Rino Yamazaki is credited with the series composition. Kazuaki Shimada returns as character designer and chief animation director.

The main Japanese voice cast is expected to reprise their iconic roles:

  • Loid Forger: Takuya Eguchi
  • Anya Forger: Atsumi Tanezaki
  • Yor Forger: Saori Hayami
  • Bond Forger/Narrator: Kenichiro Matsuda
Other returning cast members include Hiroyuki Yoshino as Franky Franklin, Yuko Kaida as Sylvia Sherwood, Kensho Ono as Yuri Briar, and Natsumi Fujiwara as Damian Desmond.

What to Expect: Adapting Key Manga Arcs

The third season is poised to adapt significant story arcs from the original manga, promising a blend of action, comedy, and heartwarming family moments. Fans can look forward to the “Friendship Schemes Arc” (Missions 64-68), where Yor makes an unexpected friend and Anya strives to improve her relationship with Damian. Following this, the thrilling “Red Circus Arc” (Missions 69-78) is expected to be featured, involving a hijacked school bus and high-stakes tension for Anya and her classmates.

There is also speculation that the “Mole Hunt Arc” (Missions 79-81) might be introduced, which centers on the perilous lives of Westalian agents and the pursuit of a mole. These arcs are anticipated to further explore the emotional development within the Forger family, with Loid’s mission facing new challenges and Yor continuing to balance her dual life as an assassin.

A Legacy of Success: Previous Seasons and Film

The Spy×Family anime has garnered immense popularity since its debut. The first season, produced by Wit Studio and CloverWorks, premiered in April 2022 and consisted of 25 episodes across two cours. The second season, comprising 12 episodes, aired from October 2023 to December 2023.

In December 2023, the franchise also released its first theatrical film, Spy×Family Code: White, which received positive reviews and grossed over $95 million worldwide. Both previous seasons of the anime, along with the film, are available for streaming on Crunchyroll. In some regions, the series has also found success on platforms like HBO Max and Hulu.

With over 38 million manga copies in circulation, Spy×Family remains a global phenomenon, and the upcoming third season is eagerly awaited by its dedicated fanbase.
