Tokyo, Japan – The official X/Twitter account for DIGIMON BEATBREAK, the highly anticipated new television anime in the Digimon franchise, has revealed a fresh visual and announced the artists behind its opening and ending theme songs. The series is set to premiere on October 5, 2025, in Japan.

MADKID will perform the opening theme song titled “Mad Pulse,” while Ai Tomioka is set to perform the ending theme, “beat up.”

Theme Song Details and Artist Commentary

The opening theme, “Mad Pulse” by MADKID, is described as having an aggressive sound, designed to immediately draw viewers into the new series with its loud drum beats. MADKID expressed that as digital natives, Digimon always felt present whenever they interacted with computers or mobile phones as children.

For the ending theme, “beat up,” Ai Tomioka’s performance features strong guitar sounds and emotional vocals. The song aims to convey the strength of persevering and moving forward with self-belief.

New Visual and Premiere Details

The announcement was accompanied by a new visual for DIGIMON BEATBREAK, further building anticipation for the series. This follows previous reveals of character visuals for the main cast and their Digimon partners in August.

DIGIMON BEATBREAK is slated to begin airing on October 5, 2025, on Fuji TV and other channels in Japan as part of the Anime Sunday 9 block. Prior to its general broadcast, a world premiere screening of the first episode will take place at “DIGIMON EXPO’25” in Tokyo Dome City on September 20 and 21, 2025. The event will include appearances by main voice cast members on the first day and key staff on the second.

Diving into the World of Digimon Beatbreak

DIGIMON BEATBREAK marks the tenth television series in the long-running Digimon franchise and the first new TV anime in two years since Digimon Ghost Game concluded in 2023.

The story is set in a world where human thoughts and emotions generate an energy called “e-Pulse,” which powers an AI support device known as “SapotaMa.” However, this rapid technological development also gives rise to terrifying creatures: Digimon, lifeforms that evolve by consuming e-Pulse.

The protagonist, Tomoro Tenma, is a 15-year-old high school freshman who tends to approach things critically and is influenced by his older brother, often tapping out rhythms with drumsticks. His life takes an extraordinary turn when his SapotaMa suddenly produces Gekkomon, his partner Digimon—a Reptile-type Data Digimon in the Rookie stage, known for being constantly hungry and acting impulsively. Tomoro’s encounter with Gekkomon draws him into unprecedented events, setting the stage for a new future between humans and Digimon.

Key Staff and Cast

The anime is directed by Hiroaki Miyamoto (One Piece Film Gold) at Toei Animation, with Ryota Yamaguchi (Sailor Moon Stars) handling series composition. Takahiro Kojima is responsible for character designs, Kenji Watanabe is credited for Digimon design, and Arisa Okehazama is composing the music. Fuji TV, Yomiko Advertising, and Toei Animation are credited for the production.

The confirmed voice cast includes:

  • Miyu Irino as Tomoro Tenma
  • Megumi Han as Gekkomon
  • Tomoyo Kurosawa as Reina Sakuya
  • Mutsumi Tamura as Pristimon, Reina’s partner Digimon
  • Arisa Sekine as Makoto Kuonji
  • Misaki Kuno as Chiropmon, Makoto’s partner Digimon
  • Yōhei Azakami as Kyo Sawashiro, leader of the “Golden Dawn”
  • Daiki Hamano as Murasamemon, Kyo’s partner Digimon

The Digimon franchise, which began as a handheld game in 1997 and launched its first anime, Digimon Adventure, in 1999, has expanded to feature over 1,000 Digimon within the Digital World, exploring themes of friendship and growth across nine TV series and eleven movies.
