Manga creator Yasu Hiromoto and artist Sayaka Itsuki are set to launch a new manga series titled Tsūkaku Tantei Tsūtenji Natsume (Pain Sensation Detective Natsume Tsūtenji) in Kadokawa’s Monthly Dragon Age magazine on October 9. Hiromoto will be penning the story, while Itsuki will be responsible for the artwork.
Delving into the World of Super-Sensates
The upcoming manga will focus on a protagonist named Arata, a boy possessing a remarkably keen intuition. His journey will involve encounters with “super-sensates,” individuals who have achieved mastery over all five of their senses. This premise suggests a narrative rich in mystery and unique abilities, exploring the depths of human perception and extraordinary sensory experiences.

Both Yasu Hiromoto and Sayaka Itsuki bring considerable experience to this new collaboration.
Yasu Hiromoto’s Writing Endeavors
Yasu Hiromoto is known for his work as a story writer in the manga industry. He previously launched the Tengen Hero Wars (Tengen Eiyū Taisen) manga with Kubaru Sakanoichi in Coamix’s Comic Zenon magazine in 2021. That series has seen success, with its eighth compiled book volume shipping in Japan on July 18, and Titan Comics releasing the English version, with the second volume having shipped in June 2024. Coamix also offers the manga digitally in English.
Sayaka Itsuki’s Artistic Contributions
Sayaka Itsuki has a diverse portfolio as an artist. Her previous works include illustrating the Marronni ☆ Yell manga, which was based on Tochigi TV’s real-life idol group. She is also credited for the original work on Sakura no Chikai, a short anime from 2018 also based on the same idol group. Additionally, Itsuki drew Mental Model Research, a spinoff manga of Ark Performance’s Arpeggio of Blue Steel manga, which ran in Shonengahosha’s Monthly Youngking Ours GH magazine from January 2019 to January 2020.
The new series promises an exciting addition to the Monthly Dragon Age lineup, combining Hiromoto’s storytelling prowess with Itsuki’s artistic talent to bring the world of Tsūkaku Tantei Tsūtenji Natsume to life.
